How did your club get started? When?
We got started at NAC as an all blind outrigger paddling team. Our first race was the 2006 Queen Lili’uokalani Race in Kona, HI.
What is the goal/mission of this club?
Makapo is committed to championing active lifestyles through inclusive outrigger paddling programs designed for people with diverse abilities, their family, and their friends.
Anything else you would like share?
We provide both recreational and competitive programs for people with disabilities of all ages. We also run research and therapeutic programs to use these modalities to ensure that our paddlers have the best experience not he water.
