This year marked the 23rd year of the Gorge Outrigger Races. What was once a local "course race" marked by both downwind and upwind legs, is now a downwind international competition drawing paddlers from around the world.This year conditions were perfect, wind, waves and in the mid 70's. Much deserved after last year's 95 plus degrees in flat water, upriver. Mahalo to the wind gods for giving us such an awesome day. And thank you to JD and his crew who have been delivering a stellar event for all of us year after year.
