One hundred plus days of travel a year. This is my KIALOA life. The original trips included sales and racing - selling paddles and having fun. In conversations at our event booths, I started to notice that the customers had some darn good ideas. Rarely does someone tell me what to build. The inspiration comes from small, almost trivial comments about their personal paddling experience. These bits of information are the road map I follow when I design.
January 26, I will be at the Hanohano Huki Ocean Challenge. It will be my first event in 2019. Maybe I’ll sell some paddles. I doubt I’ll race. But I am sure someone will tell me something I will store away, on hold until it is transformed into a paddle.
