Most people head to the North Shore for the surf. The world renown waters of the North Shore and the surfers that hail from this epic place are known to all. But, don't settle for just surfing when you visit. If you are an adrenaline junkie, there are plenty of other things to do if the waves aren't cooperating on any given day. Motocross, swimming with sharks, skydiving, hiking, or other less risky water sports are all at your fingertips. The North Shore has a ton to offer for thrill seekers and those less adventurous types alike. Whatever you do while visiting, the North Shore will not disappoint.

"When the wave breaks here, don't be there"

Sure the North Shore is a surfing mecca, but that’s just one slice of the pie for adventure-seekers on Oahu.

If you’re into thrill rides like roller coasters, then you know what you’re looking for. You’re fiending for G-forces and that unique feeling of weightlessness that lies somewhere in between exhilaration and pure terror. While the idyllic, picture-of-paradise-looking North Shore of Oahu doesn’t have any "coasters," if you had the skill-set and iron nerves, you’d find the steep drops you’re looking for at the Banzai Pipeline or Waimea Bay. You’d surely hit some positive-G’s dropping from an airplane 20,000 feet above the shoreline. Or get your adrenaline fix for the year swimming with a school of a dozen Galapagos sharks. Motocross, cliff jumps, a skate park, blue water hunting … the list goes on for adventure junkies.
