The third big name SUP paddler/surfer is changing it up. Mo Freitas is finalizing a deal with a new sponsor. Freitas was on contract with Focus SUP for 2017 but it looks like change is in the works for this 20 year old phenom. No one knows for sure who he signed with, but we do know that a lot of big sponsorship news will be coming out soon.

The New Year is a time for change and personal growth, a notion not lost on professional standup paddlers in 2018. After news broke yesterday that Kai Lenny is leaving Naish, today we’ve learned that another elite paddler is on the move. This morning, Oahu’s SUP surfing and racing savant Mo Freitas announced on Instagram that he’s close to finalizing a contract with a new board sponsor.
A top contender in both SUP surfing and racing, Freitas was previously signed with Focus SUP until the end of the 2017 season. To this point, mums been the word as to where the 20-year-old will wind up, but we’ll keep you up-to-date once the official announcement has been made.
