Gender equality is beginning to show up in all arenas. The International Surfing Association has announced that it will feature women's divisions in the World Adaptive Surf Championships. This is not only exciting because this sport is supporting more gender equity but also that more women are advancing in this discipline. Surfing can contribute a lot to the health and well being of all people regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic status.

The International Surfing Association (ISA) has announced that the 2017 Stance ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championship, presented by Vissla and the City of San Diego, will feature women’s divisions for the first time ever, highlighting the ISA’s dedication to promoting gender equality in both Para Surfing (also known as Adaptive Surfing) and Surfing.
