The beach start is an integral part of any race. How can we get to the water and on our board ahead of the pack? Getting out in front and not getting stuck in board wake and chaos is imperative to having a good race and a top finish. But while dialing in your stroke is critical, you can’t afford to overlook your beach start technique. Because let’s face it, if you’re already behind 20 or 30 paddlers before you take your first stroke, it’s going to be a lot tougher to score a top finish.
