When you don’t need a full-scale lodge or hotel room but want to stay in shelter that’s a little more protected and outfitted than a tent, try a teepee or yurt. Midwinter, you can find snow-covered yurts with ski-in, ski-out backcountry access and wood-burning stoves, while in warmer weather, desert or coastal teepees have surfing, biking, and hiking out your canvas-tented door.
