Jack O’Neill who coined the term 'it's always summer on the inside' and developed the neoprene wetsuit for surfing the chilly waters of Northern California coastline will be celebrated in a special paddle out on July 9th in Santa Cruz.

Pleasure Point paddle out set for July 9 to honor waterman who helped invent wetsuit.

Jack O’Neill’s life will be honored in perfect waterman fashion: With a paddle out at Pleasure Point, below where the surfing pioneer lived for decades.

The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. July 9 and will include a day-long celebration of O’Neill’s life, family members said.
