When we were 8 years old we probably weren't battling 20 foot swells in an open ocean SUP race. For one youngster, he did just that. Conditions in the 10th annual Olukai Ho'o race were unusual this year with little to no wind but crazy surf conditions. Bobo Gallagher, an 8-year-old SUP phenom, braved it all and described it as fun.

INZANE SUPER GROM BOBO GALLAGHER IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE 8-YEAR-OLD.
For a skinny eight-year-old boy standing less than five feet tall and weighing in under 100 pounds soaking wet, facing off with a 20-foot wave might be the scariest thing imaginable. But don't tell that to Bobo Gallagher, the Maui grom matching those criteria who competed in last weekend's OluKai Ho'olaule'a SUP race with high-surf advisory swell snapping boards and threatening peril all around him.Comments will be approved before showing up.
